Louise (Lucy) Bonner, age 86, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M., Friday, February 19, 2016 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at Palava Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.
Dorothy Louise Yoakum was born on April 8, 1929 in Palava, Texas to Ollie Ray and Julia Tye (Leeper) Yoakum. She married Kenneth Lee Bonner on June 25, 1947 in Sweetwater, Texas. She was a member of Fourth & Elm Church of Christ. She worked for Smitty's Drugstore and Cox Jewelers as a sales clerk for many years before retiring.
She is survived by her son, Kenny Bonner and wife Norma of Sweetwater, Texas, two grandchildren, Jason Bonner of Odessa, Texas, and Lindsay Reyes and husband Richard of Sweetwater, Texas, and four great grandchildren, Jaxon Ashford, Sloan Reyes, Sydni Reyes, and Journey Bonner, sister, Bernice Howard of Sweetwater, Texas, nieces and nephews, Cindy & Jimmy McMillan of Snyder, Texas, Jack & Carla Howard of Sweetwater, TX and Brent Howard of Sweetwater, TX and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Ray and Tye Yoakum and husband, Kenneth Lee Bonner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Cornerstone Christian School, 400 Elm Street, Sweetwater, Texas 79556.
