Luis Heredia, age 81, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Hendrick Medical Center.
A rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Ida Pantoja.
Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 1, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish (Immaculate Heart of Mary) with Rev. Michael Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Luis was born on March 25, 1936 in Sweetwater, Texas. He was raised by his grandparents, Arthur and Jesusita Heredia. He worked for many years at Sweetwater Compress and did yard work. He was a Catholic and a lifetime resident of Sweetwater.
He is survived by two brothers, Manuel Heredia and wife Ruth and Julian Castillo and wife Celia, two sisters, Juanita Morales and Mary Palma and husband Tony, all of Sweetwater, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Jesusita Heredia, wife Eufemia Lopez Heredia, four brothers, Isidro Castillo, Raul Heredia, John Castillo and Joe Costillo.
Pallbearers will be Gilbert Heredia, Gilbert Costillo, Randy Melendez, Ricky Heredia, Arthur Arzate, Julian Castillo.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gabriel Melendez, and Andrew Melendez.
