Margarett Louise (Bennett) Watts, 98 of Sweetwater passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Sweetwater Healthcare
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Carter Edmondson officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Margarett was born October 11, 1922 in Sweetwater to Walter Bennett and Mittie (Hancock) Bennett. She was a lifetime member of First Christian Church and a 1941 graduate of Sweetwater High School. She married L.D. Watts in 1942 and together had five children. Margarett, affectionately called Memaw, was a nanny for many years and a nursery keeper at her church. She enjoyed traveling, crafts and family gatherings.
Survivors include her Son, Speight Watts and Wife Cindy of Sweetwater; Son, Lynn Watts of Sweetwater, Daughter, Pat Fox and Husband Peter of Ruidoso, NM; Son, Steve Watts and Wife Sherry of Sweetwater; and numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
Margarett was preceded in death by her Husband, L.D. Watts; Daughter, Mary Watts; Granddaughter, Joni Watts, Great-Grandson, Seth McIntosh; Brother, Glen Bennett; Step-mother, Ora Lee Bennett; Father, Walter Bennett; Mother, Mittie Bennett; Brother, Walter Bennett Jr., and sister, Eva Ruth Bennett.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Lee, Jeff Lee, Austin Moreland, Dwane Watts, Brandon Presley, and Lamar Berry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tricia Berry, Crystal Rea, Laura Presley, Amy Lee and Angela Watts.
