Marilyn June Lamb, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Nolan Nursing & Rehab.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt McGowen and Billy Oliver officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.

June was born on April 8, 1932 in San Angelo, Texas to Albert and Teula (Berry) Guelker. She worked for Sweetwater Reporter and Abilene Reporter News for many years before retiring. She was a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Lamb Scott of Sweetwater, Texas, son, Michael Ray Lamb and wife Vicky of Laguna Park, Texas, four grandchildren, Angela Douglas, Scooter Scott, James Lamb, and John Lamb, four great grandchildren, Hunter Douglas, Trent Douglas, Justiss Douglas and Kimber Douglas and one great great grandchild, Maddox Douglas,  two sisters, Patsy Smith of Abilene, Texas, and Gayle Boykin of North Richland Hills, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Teula Guelker, two brothers, James Eddie Guelker and Cotton Guelker, and one sister, Darlene Riddle.

Pallbearers will be Scooter Scott, John Lamb, Welton Guelker, Mark Guelker, Bryan Boykin, and Mike Walston.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Smith, Eddie Wayne Guelker, and Kenneth Riddle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 8212 Ithaca Avenue, Lubbock, Texas 79423.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses, CNAs, and Nolan Nursing and Rehab for the care they provided to their mother.
