Marion E. Lincoln, age 88, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Dusty Lovell officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Marion was born September 16, 1923 in Mesquite, Texas to Sam and Grace (Porter) Smith. She married Donald W. Lincoln on November 4, 1943 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She and her husband owned and operated Lincoln Electric for many years before retiring. She was a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church and a charter member of Brush and Palette Art Club. She loved to cook, paint, do arts and crafts, sewing and quilting, woodworking, carpentry work and she enjoyed fishing. She loved to entertain for her friends at the cabin.
She is survived by her daughter, Delores Broker and husband Steve of Roscoe, Texas; two sons, David Lincoln of Sweetwater, Texas, and Donnie Lincoln and wife Nancy of Ruidoso, New Mexico; three grandchildren, Christy Wynn and husband Allen, Danny Lincoln and wife Angi all of Round Rock, Texas and Staff Sgt. Gabriel Lincoln of South Korea; ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Lewis Smith and wife Donna, and Sam Smith and wife Polly, all of Sweetwater, Texas; and one sister, Mohee Barnes of Gardendale, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Lincoln, her parents, Sam and Grace Smith; and sisters, Jackie Grimes, Eugenia Smith and Neva Dunlap.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Lovell, Allen Wynn, Danny Lincoln, Arthur Zunker, Andrew Way and Randy Zunker.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 6-8 PM.
