Marshall Neilan Pior, age 89, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Fourth and Elm Church of Christ with Mike Crowley officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 16, 2013, from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.
Marshall was born on August 5, 1924, in Abilene, Texas to Marshall Hicks Pior and Leta (Cravy) Pior. He married Earlene Brown on April 10, 1943 in Baird, Texas. Marshall was a member of 800 Lamar Street Church of Christ serving as an elder for forty six years. He then attended Fourth and Elm Church of Christ. He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran and a rancher.
He is survived by his wife Earlene Pior of Sweetwater, Texas; son, Neil Pior and wife Tammy of Arlington, Texas; two daughters, Sharon Gabler and husband Larry and Leigh Byrd and husband Jerry, all of Sweetwater, Texas, grandchildren; Lyle and Ruby Gabler, Allison and Katelyn Pior, Chelsea Haseltine, Cari and Mitch Ellis, and great grandkids, Zack, Alyssa, Jade Ellis, Hayden Pior and Kenley Gabler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Hicks and Leta Pior.
Pallbearers will be Terry Locklar, Will Petree, Kevin Nowell, Rick Campbell, Jerry Chitsey and Ken Lofton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Ault and Mondel Rogers.
