Mary Marie "Jo" Stautzenberger, 92, loving wife and mother went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2016.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Clower officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 10:-00 - 11:00 A.M.

Mary Marie "Jo" Stautzenberger was born in Maud, Tx on February 21, 1924. Jo married Edgar Stautzenberger in Lubbock, Tx on November 27, 1941 and enjoyed 62 wonderful years together. Jo was a homemaker and attended the Baptist Church with her family. Her husband Edgar worked for El Paso Natural gas where it took their family to many places around Texas and Kansas. Upon retirement in 1979 they moved to Stephenville, Tx until 1999 where they then moved to Sweetwater, TX. She lived in Sweetwater among family and friends until 2011 then moved to Amarillo where she resided until her passing. She is preceded in death by her husband Edgar Stautzenberger, her parents Henry and Ganil Hobbs, 6 sisters and 3 brothers.

Jo is survived by 1 son, James Stautzenberger of Tyler, Tx and 2 daughters Kaye Matthews, husband John Matthews of Amarillo, Tx and Judy Strother, husband Jerry Strother of Frisco, Tx. 2 sisters Fanny Utley and Sally Harrington both of Sweetwater, Tx, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Among many of her blessings are her 7 grandchildren, Jes Stautzenberger, Tammy Gonzales, Jerry Strother Jr., John Mark Matthews, Chad Strother, Kyla Johnson, Bryan Matthews. Additional blessings are her 15 great-grandchildren Madison, Sage, Torrey, Jonah, Megan, Greydon, Ashley, Dalton, Jude, Garrett, Maddie, Laney, Beckham, Samantha and David.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jes Stautzenberger, Jerry Strother, Jr., John Mark Matthews, Chad Strother, Bryan Matthews, and Torrey Matthews.
