Michael "Blue" Bredemeyer

Michael "Blue" Bredemeyer, age 68, of Levelland, TX, went to be with the Lord, Friday, November 17th, 2017 in his home. He was surrounded by his family, in his send off to go see the love of his life, Betty.

Per his wishes, he was cremated. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Curtis Ward officiating.   Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Michael was born in Winters, Texas on October 14, 1949 to August & Rosa Bredemeyer. He was raised in Sweetwater, was a graduate of the l968 class of Sweetwater High School, and went on to attend Tarleton State University  with a major in Industrial Arts.

He was a Lutheran and married Betty Jean Archer on  January 19, 1978 at Faith Lutheran Church in Sweetwater.  He was active in the Sweetwater Little League Baseball Association in the early 90's, where he served as President, coach, and an umpire.  He lived in Sweetwater for 46 years and worked in the oil field. He then moved to Levelland in 1996 and retired with XTO Energy in 2007. He was a member of the Texas Tech Red Raider Club of Lubbock and a lifelong member of the Sweetwater Elks Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, dancing with his late wife, Betty, and spending time with his two grandkids.

He is survived by his children, Greg Bredemeyer of Levelland; John & Micah Parsons & his two grandchildren, Michaela & Maddox of Lubbock; two brothers, Robert Bredemeyer and wife Gayla; and Jerry Bredemeyer of Sweetwater; and a sister Joan Kendrick of Roscoe, also many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his parents, August & Rosa Bredemeyer; his brothers, Teddy Joe Bredemeyer, Elton Roy Bredemeyer, August Bredemeyer, III, and a sister Alma Conway.
