Myrtle (Leatherwood) Anderson

Myrtle Anderson, age 91, of Big Spring, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring, Texas.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Garden of Memories with Brother Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Myrtle was born on April 17, 1931 in Poolville, Texas to Van Mason and Roxie (Waters) Leatherwood.  She married Carl Martin Anderson on December 17, 1948 in Sweetwater, Texas. She worked for Skating & Fun and Rolling Plains RV for many years before retiring.  She was a Baptist.

She is survived by her son, Johnny Anderson of Sweetwater, Texas, daughter, June Maxwell and husband Ronnie of Big Spring, Texas,  ten grandchildren, and  numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and one sister, Ann Rounsaville of Golden, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Martin Anderson, son, Buster Anderson, two granddaughters, Julie Anderson and Rhonda Maxwell, parents, Van Mason & Roxie Leatherwood, six brothers, Virgil, Woodard, Loyd, Bill, Roy and Joe Leatherwood, and sister, Gladys Bennett.
