Naomi Thadene (Judy) Brazelton, age 79 of Almagardo, New Mexico, ( Former resident of Sweetwater, Texas), passed away on Wednesday November 27, 2013 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Fourth and Elm Church of Christ with Mike Crowley officiating. Burial will follow at Newman Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 2, 2013 from 6-8 P.M..
Naomi Thadene (Judy) Morrison was born on July 1, 1934 in Throckmorton, Texas to G.D.and Elva (Hatcher) Morrison. She married Robert Glenn Brazelton on September 1, 1952 in Sweetwater, Texas. She was a longtime member of 4th & Elm Church of Christ. She worked as the County Clerk for Nolan County for many years. In 1992, Judy was named County Clerk of the Year for the State of Texas. She was a past member of ABWA and B& P W.
She is survived by her son, David Brazelton and wife Sherri of Sweetwater, Texas, daughter, Glenda Cummings of Lovington, New Mexico, five grandchildren, Cody Cummings and wife Kristy, Zane Cummings and wife Hattie, Blue Brazelton and wife Jennifer, Ronnie Beth Alvarez and husband Arturo and Beth Herron of Lovington, New Mexico; six great grandchildren; brother, Gary D. Morrison and wife Debra of Chicago, Illinois, brother-in-law, Clayton Brazelton of Texas; and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, G.D. and Elva Morrison, husband, Robert Glenn Brazelton, sister, Sharron Walker, and son-in-law, Gerald Cummings.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Brazelton, Bill Brazelton, Willie Brazelton, Rocky Bryan, Cody Cummings and Zane Cummings.
