Pauline Byrd, age 85, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Fourth and Elm Church of Christ with Mike Crowley officiating. Burial will follow at Palava Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Pauline was born on October 6, 1927 in San Angelo, Texas to Clyde and Pearl (Denton) Casey. She married Gerald Byrd on June l8, 1946 in Sweetwater, Texas. She was a homemaker. a graduate of Newman (Sweetwater) High School, and a member of Fourth and Elm Church of Christ for almost seventy years.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Byrd and wife Leigh, and Jeff Byrd, all of Sweetwater; one granddaughter, Cari Ellis and husband Mitch of San Angelo, Texas; three great grandchildren, Zack, Alyssa and Jade; three brother-in-laws, Hal Byrd and wife Marilyn, Jack Byrd and wife Judy, and Orville Collins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Pearl Casey, and husband, Gerald C. Byrd.
Pallbearers will be Jim Kelley, Tommy Campbell, Terry Locklar, Wayne Bryant, Joe Don Smith, and Billy Whisenant.
In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Pre-School, 400 Elm Street, Sweetwater, Texas 79556.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 6-8 PM.
