Ray Davison, age 78, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Hendrick Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Broadway Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Stephens and Rev. James Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Ray was born on October 10, 1933 in Fisher County, Texas to Travis Elbert and Opal (Rowell) Davison. He married Alseon Miller on March 31, 1956 in Sweetwater, Texas. He was a longtime member of Broadway Baptist Church serving as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was also a member of the Gideons. He owned and operated Davison Sign Company for many years.
He is survived by his wife Alseon Davison of Sweetwater, Texas; one daughter, Charlotte Stephenson of Lake Peekskill, New York; two sons, Mark Davison and wife Rosie of Denton, Texas; and Terry Davison and wife Dolores of Sweetwater, Texas; three sisters, Jean Miller of Sweetwater, Texas; Peggy Perez of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Joy Hobson and husband Gary of Jal, New Mexico; three brothers, Richard Davison, Bobby Davison, and Loy Davison, all of Sweetwater, Texas; three grandchildren, Dana Ray Stephenson, Trinety and Kayden Davison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Travis Elbert and Opal Davison, and one brother, Clarence Davison.
