Ray S. Gomez, age 52, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas
A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Monday, July 7, 2014 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Domingo Castillo.
Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Holy Spirit Parish (Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church) with Rev. Charles Okonkwo officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Ray was born on March 28, 1962 in Clinton, Oklahoma. He worked in construction for many years. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish (Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church).
He is survived by his mother, Carlotta Gomez of Sweetwater, Texas, five sisters, Helen Ybarra and husband George of Universal City, Texas, Margaret Torres and husband Louis of Sweetwater, Texas, Dora Garcia and husband Edward of San Antonio, Texas, Mary Gutierrez and husband Dolores of Sweetwater, Texas, and Charlotte Rogers and husband Rolando of Sweetwater, Texas, half sister, Amy Schweers of Grapevine, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews and girlfriend, Laura Flores of Sweetwater, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Margarito H. Gomez.
Pallbearers will be : Reuben Rogers, Ronnie Torres, Daniel Gutierrez, Ricky Gomez, Ricky Castro and Gilbert Heredia.
