Sweetwater, Texas

Richard Clayton Alls, age 77, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital surrounded by family.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M..

His wishes were to be cremated.  A military graveside service will be held l:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Stovall officiating and the U.S. Army Honor Guard.  Burial will follow.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Richard was born on January 17, 1947 in Borger, Texas to Raymond and Mable (Hill) Alls.  He married Helen Williams on January 19, 1971 in Rotan, Texas.  He worked for U.S. Gypsum for many years as a general foreman before retiring.  He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church.  Richard was a U.S. Army veteran.

Richard is survived by son, Wayne Sorrells and wife Kelly, daughter, Melinda Moncada and husband Salvador, all of Sweetwater, Texas, five grandchildren, Raquel Moncada, Misty Muncy, Bubba Moncada, Roman Clayton Moncada, and Tabitha Bennett, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, two brothers, Larry Alls of Andrews, Texas and Charles Alls and wife Doylene of Sweetwater, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen I. Alls, parents, Raymond and Mable Alls, son, Dewey Bennett, and granddaughters, Aimee Bennett, and Joni Sorrells.
