Richard Lee Glasgow, age 79, of Bangs, Texas, (Former resident of Sweetwater, Texas), passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 21, 2015 at First Apostolic Tabernacle with Lester Cavitt officiating. Burial will follow at Blackwell Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Richard was born on August 26, 1935 in Blackwell, Texas to William Alonzo (Shorty) and Bessie (Blair) Glasgow. He worked as a truck driver for TexSand and Schwerman Trucking Company for many years before retiring. He was a member of First Apostolic Tabernacle.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Blount of Bangs, Texas; son, Richard Dwayne Mullins of Atlanta, Georgia, three grandchildren, Richard Lee Glasgow, III, Brittaney Jade Blount and Marshall Alan Blount, one great grandchild, Aliyssa Sapphire Leach, two sisters, Faye Beam of Atlanta, Georgia, and Janet Merrill Glasgow of San Angelo, Texas, brother-in-law, Dwayne Walker of San Angelo, Texas, sister-in-law, Winnie Glasgow of Sweetwater, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews, including Ann and Lester Cavitt, Gailyn Bellflower, Jolene Barnett, Corky Gaston, and Donny Gaston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shorty and Bessie Glasgow, son, Richard Lee Glasgow, Jr., two brothers, Delbert Glasgow and Marvin Glasgow, two sisters, Louise Walker and Bertha Romano, three nephews, Bill Glasgow , Travis Glasgow, and Randy Baines, three nieces, Bertha June Zeitler, Bessie Lee Foster and Tekka Baines, great nephew, Michael Cavitt, great niece - Wacie Barnett, and great great nephew, Stanley Glasgow.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.
