Ricky Castorena

Ricky Castorena, age 38, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by David Mendez.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Holy Spirit Parish with Father Nilo Nalugon officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Ricky was born on May 20, 1980 in Sweetwater, Texas to Magdaleno and Emelia (Garza) Castorena. He was a graduate of Sweetwater High School and attended ITT Tech in Houston, Texas. He worked for J & H Strain Construction Company for many years. He was a lifetime resident of Sweetwater, Texas.

He is survived by his daughter, Xandria DeLaCruz of Sweetwater, Texas; mother, Emelia Castorena of Sweetwater, Texas; grandmother, Fernanda Garza; two sisters, Angie Castorena and Josephine Castorena, both of Sweetwater, Texas; niece and nephew, Celeste Torres and Issac Torres; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Magdaleno Castorena.

Pallbearers will be David Vega, Jason Gomez, P.J. Garza, Jerry DeLaCruz, Tino Gutierrez, Danny Camacho, Remigio Orozco, Chris Gomez,  Nick Zarate, and Anthony DeLaCruz.
