Robert Lee Duckworth

Robert Lee Duckworth, age 81, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.
His body will be cremated. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, October 24, 2014 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. Matt McGowen officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Robert was born on May 8, 1933 to Thomas and Sally (Shepperd) Duckworth. He was a U. S. Air Force Korean War Veteran serving as a Staff Sargent. He also worked at Southwest Canvas for many years as a sewing machine operator. He was a Baptist and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Lee Hearn and husband Pete of Sweetwater, Texas, and Nancy Ann Partridge of Paris, Texas, one son, Thomas D. Duckworth and wife Joanne of Union City, Tennessee, four grandchildren, James Lee Hearn, Lindsey Hearn, Taylor Duckworth, and Alexandra Duckworth, brother, Billy Duckworth of Merkel, Texas and longtime friend, Andy Geeson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Sally Duckworth, two sons, Bobby Duckworth and Roy Gene Duckworth, and nine brothers and sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to V.F. W. Post 2479, 217 Loop 170, Sweetwater, Texas 79556. .
