Royce Lee Mims

Royce Lee Mims, age 85, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, 9, 2020 at Garden of Memories with Bryan Cauthen officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.

Royce was born on July 29, 1934 in Hamby, Texas to William Jefferson and Willie Mae (Jennings) Mims. He married Melba Coker on November 12, 1955 in Abilene, Texas. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2000. He married Adele Loree Edwards on May 26, 2001 in Sweetwater, Texas He was a longtime member of Fourth and Elm Church of Christ and a U.S. Army Veteran. He owned and operated a Dental Lab for many years before retiring.

He is survived by his wife Adele Mims of Sweetwater, Texas, son, Mark Mims and wife Vickie of Franklin, Tennessee, two daughters, Karla Hayes and husband Mickey of Tuscola, Texas, and Jill Locklar and husband Terry of Lake Sweetwater, Texas, two step-children, Benjamin Wilkinson and wife Diana, and Rebecca Cauthen and husband Bryan, nine grandchildren, Lyndi Cherry and husband Grant , Larissa Locklar, Reese Hayes, Rylan Hayes, Madison Mims, Nolan Mims, Hannah Cauthen, Hailie Cauthen, and Haiden Cauthen, and three great grandchildren, Gibson Cherry, Gaines Cherry and Gates Cherry.

He was preceded in death by two children, Karen Mims and Craig Mims, wife, Melba Mims, parents, William Jefferson and Willie Mae (Jennings) Mims, and brother, Ray Mims.
