Ruben Reyes Lopez

Ruben Reyes Lopez, age 73, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Sweetwater Cemetery with family members officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.

Ruben was born on November 22, 1944 in Crystal City, Texas to Encarnacion and Felis (Reyes) Lopez. He married Estela Benavides on February 16, 1966 in Crystal City, Texas. He had been a resident of Sweetwater for over forty years coming from Wisconsin. He worked as a machinist for Ludlum Measurements before retiring. He graduated from Kenosha Technical Institute.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Estela Lopez of Sweetwater, Texas, daughters, Alma Lopez Solano and husband Paul, and Elisena Rosas, all of Sweetwater, Texas, and Leticia Hinton and husband Bill of Michigan; sons, Ruben Lopez, Jr. and wife Cynthia of Sweetwater, Texas, Rojelio Lopez, Sr. and wife Keta of Kyle, Texas, and Ramiro Lopez, Sr. and wife Lupe of Andrews, Texas; twenty five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and siblings, Encarnacion Lopez, Salome Lopez, Roberto Lopez, Ricardo Lopez, Irma Guerrero, Raul Lopez, Rodolfo Lopez, Felis Lopez, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Encarnacion Lopez, mother, Felis Reyes Lopez and brother, Reymundo Reyes Lopez.

Pallbearers will be Ruben Lopez, Jr., Rojelio Lopez, Ramiro Lopez, Paul Solano, Jr., Encarnacion Lopez, III, and Eddie Trevino.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jose Lopez, Jessica Marie Solano, Christopher Gonzales, Ricky Guzman, Rojelio Lopez, Jr., Ramiro Lopez, Jr.
