Rufus T. Palacios, Sr.,
age 78, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away Saturday,
January 15, 2011, at his residence.
A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Monday, January 17, 2011 at Immaculate Heart
of Mary Catholic Church recited by family
Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held
at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Rodriguez
officiating.
Burial will follow at
Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Rufus was born July 4, 1932 in Sweetwater,
(Connie) Quirino on
member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church serving as
Eucharistic
minister and usher for many years and was also a member of Santo Nombre and a
Cursillista.
He worked as a maintenance engineer for
Holiday Inn before retiring.
He also worked for R.E. Janes Gravel Company
in
He is survived by his wife – Concepcion (Connie) Palacios of
ten children – Leandro Palacios and wife Paris of
and wife Ramona of
Ermelinda Quesada and husband Luis; Severita Rosales and husband Jesse, all of
Abilene, Texas; Anacleto Palacios and wife Veronica of Cedar Park, Tx; Maria Palacios;
and Martin Palacios, both of
of
fourteen grandchildren – Cory, Syreeta, and Sarah Palacios of
Elizabeth, and Victoria Palacios, all of Sweetwater, TX; Elijah Quesada and wife
Rachel of
and Alexis Lopez, Efrain, and Gregory Rodriquez, and Jesse Rosales, Jr. all of
TX; five great grandchildren – Olivia Carter, Aryana Lopez, Alexis Lopez, Jr.,
Victoria Elizabeth Rodriquez, and Charles Alexander Moore, brother –David Palacios,
Jr. of Sweetwater, Texas; sisters – Lupe Prado of Sweetwater, Texas; Rosa Maria
DeLuna of Plainview, Texas; sister-in-law – Marianne Palacios of Sweetwater,
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents – David Palacios, Sr. and Agustina Torres
Palacios and one brother – Cruz Palacios, Sr..
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic
Church,
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
