Samuel "Sammy" Gutierrez

Samuel "Sammy" Gutierrez, age 53, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.
A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Domingo Castillo.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 17, 2014 at Holy Spirit Parish (Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church) with Deacon Bill Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Sammy was born on December 3, 1960 in Sweetwater, Texas to Alfonso, Sr. and Ignasia (Espino) Gutierrez. He worked in construction and also had worked for fifteen years with U.S. Gypsum. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Tamara Albarado and husband JoJo of Abilene, Texas, two grandsons, Isaiah Albarado and Noah Albarado, five sisters, Mary Ham, Esther Castillo and husband Domingo, Linda Medellin, Lupe Gutierrez , all of Sweetwater, Texas, Gloria McFadin and husband Allen of Abilene, Texas, five brothers, Rumaldo Gutierrez, Pete Gutierrez and wife Rosa, Dolores "Lolly" Gutierrez and wife Mary, and Robert Gutierrez, all of Sweetwater, Texas, and George Gutierrez and wife Lisa of Andrews, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso Gutierrez, Sr. and Ignasia "Nancy" Gutierrez, brothers, Alfonso"Ponchie" Gutierrez, Jr., and Arnulfo "Shooky" Gutierrez, and sister, Christina Salinas.
Pallbearers will be Mike Aguero, Domingo Castillo, Jr., Julian Moncada, Jr., Adam Gutierrez, Alex Gonzales, and Danny Gutierrez.
