Sandra Shuler, 70, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma ( formerly of Sweetwater, TX), passed into the presence of her Lord on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at her home in Sand Springs.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Roscoe Cemetery with Rev. William Mayo officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
She was born in Ft. Worth, TX on April 15, 1941. Her parents were Walter E. Scott and Nola (Gray) Scott. Sandra married Clyde Shuler, who preceded her in death in December of 1969. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and had worked at West Texas MHMR as a Psychology Nurse in Sweetwater prior to moving to Sand Springs. After moving to Sand Springs, she served on the Advocacy Board as the Nurse Advisor for Springs, Inc.
Sandra was an active member of Olivet Baptist Church. While living in Sweetwater she was active at Trinity Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was a musician and played the piano and organ, and was also an avid Canasta player in Texas. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life and she enjoyed any activity that involved them.
Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Ann Stewart and son-in-law, Brett Stewart of Sand Springs, a granddaughter, Megan Nichole Stewart and a grandson, Brandon Scott Stewart. In addition to family members she is survived by many friends in Texas and Sand Springs.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clyde Shuler and sister, Doris Mae Taylor.
