Stevan C. Alcala, Sr.

November 28, 1954 — September 16, 2011

Stevan Alcala, Sr., age 56, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Hendrick Medical Center.

A Rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Pauline Gauna and Connie Palacios.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Udegbunam officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Stevan was born on November 28, 1954 in Sweetwater, Texas to Silverio and Francisca (Carrillo) Alcala. He married Ydalia Gomez on Feb. 12, 1973 in San Angelo, Texas. He worked for Lone Star Industries for many years before retiring. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Ydalia Alcala of Sweetwater, Texas; two daughters, Marie Alcala of Sweetwater, Texas and Pinkie Blueford and husband Lamar of Sweetwater, Texas; and son, Stevan Alcala, Jr. and wife Danielle of Sweetwater, TX. seven grandchildren, Andrew Alcala, Angela Blueford, Alexe' Alcala, Madelyn Hicks, Gabriel Alcala, LeBron Blueford, and Darwin Blueford, father, Silverio Alcala of Sweetwater, TX; two brothers, Noah Alcala and wife Eunice of New Braunfels, TX; and Robert Alcala of Austin, TX; and three sisters, Christinia Duran of Midland, TX; Maggie Gabaldon of Sweetwater, TX; and Eliza Ornelas and husband Carlos of Odessa, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Francisca Alcala, brother, Jacob Alcala and two sisters, Emma Munoz and Anita Alcala.
