Sybil (Martin) Jones
June 18, 1925 — March 6, 2015
Sybil Martin Jones, age 89, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 9, 2015 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Loraine Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Sybil was born on June 18, 1925 in Covington, Texas to Ross and Clara (Tribble) Martin. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for many years as a telephone operator, managed numerous convenience stores until she landed her dream job at Wal Mart as a greeter and later as a fitting room attendant. She had been a resident of Sweetwater, Texas for forty four years coming from Snyder, Texas. Her pride and joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Jones and wife Dottie of Sweetwater, Texas, and David Jones and wife Leslie of Colorado City, Texas, granddaughter, Chelsea Jones; and grandsons, Chris Jones and wife Kimberly, and Evan Jones and wife Camellia, great grandchildren, Devon May, Lilyth May and Olivia Jones and one sister, Karen Martin of Huntington, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Clara Martin, brother, R.C. Martin and sisters, June Baker and Betty Courtney.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M..
