Thomas Wayne Miller, age 66 of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2013 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Blackwell Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Don Bennett. officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 6-7:30 P.M.
Thomas was born on May 2, 1947 in Camden, New Jersey to Richard and Thelma Miller. He married Evelyn Jewell Oden on August 31, 1968 in Berlin, New Jersey. He was a Baptist and a member of the American Legion. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War. He worked as a truck driver for Gypsum Transport for 22 years and TDCJ for l5 years before retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Miller of Sweetwater, Texas, son, Thomas Miller, Jr. and wife Jill of Odessa, Texas, two daughters, Vickie Tovias and husband Toby of San Angelo, Texas and Shelley Holsey and husband Lee , of San Angelo, Texas; eight grandchildren, Samantha Holsey, Lee Holsey, Tori Holsey, Ashlynn Tanksley, Kasey Tovias, Haley Miller, Austin Cochran, and Thomas Hunter Miller; three great grandchildren, Aven Tovias, Isaac Martinez, and Tatum Tovias, and three brothers, Dick Miller and wife Bonnie of Connecticut, Joe Miller and wife Mary Beth of New Jersey, and Bob Miller and wife Rosie of Pflugerville, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Thelma Miller and granddaughter, Arieol Tovias.
