Wayne Hagood, age 85, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Chester McCown officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
Wayne was born on June 12, 1931 in Inadale, Texas to Oscar and Lula (Morrison) Hagood. He married Helen Bredemeyer on July 10, 1955 at Calvary Lutheran in Sweetwater. He owned and operated Wayne's Barber Shop for many years before retiring. He had been a resident of Sweetwater since 1955.
He is survived by two sons, Mark Hagood of Sweetwater and Becky Stokes, dear and significant friend of the family, and Joel Hagood and wife Kim of Levelland, Texas, five grandchildren, Brandon Hagood, Tristan Hagood, Heather Hagood, Whitney Hagood and Maura Hagood, three great grandchildren, Seth Hagood, Dexter Hagood and David Hagood, sister, Ruby Parker of Roscoe, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Helen Hagood, son, Brad Wayne Hagood, three sisters, and one brother.
Pallbearers will be Tex Leach, Arthur Ray Boyd, Kenneth Kendrick, J. Roy McAdams, David Hackfeld, and Russell Imken.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roland Finch, Billy Brazelton, and Cecil Stolle. .
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
