Wayne O. Reeves, age 87, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery with the U.S. Naval Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.

Wayne was born on August 3, 1929 in Sidney, Texas to Luther and Mary Stella (Keeton) Reeves. He worked for the U.S. Post Office for many years before retiring. He was a Baptist and a U.S. Navy veteran. He married Sharon Underwood Lee on July 30, 2005 in Sweetwater, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Reeves of Sweetwater, Texas, daughter, Sheila Lamb and husband Dennis of Sweetwater, Texas, two sons, Harold Wayne Reeves and Nathan Ray Reeves, both of Abilene, Texas, two step-daughters, Kim Nelson and husband Brian of Colorado, and Sarah Lee and husband Bobby of California, grandchildren, Russell Reeves, Sam Bilbo, Josh Huett and wife Alyssa, Taylor Weimer and husband Andy, Stephanie Brant and husband Jamie, and Hayden Reeves,five step-grandchildren, Josh Nelson, Chris Nelson, Xander Lee, Violet Alexander and Eli Alexander, six great grandchildren, Sidney Miller and husband Justin, Caleb Bilbo, Nolan Reeves, Zoee Huett, Rilee Huett and Elizabeth Reeves, and four great great grandchildren, Holly Miller, Mason Miller, Callie Brant, and Jamie Brant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke & Stella Reeves, first wife, Clara Jo (Tootsie) Reeves, two sisters, Kitty Lou Goodman, and Eloise Shelton and brother Ennis Reeves.

Pallbearers will be Russell Reeves, Sam Bilbo, Josh Huett, Caleb Bilbo, Nolan Reeves, and Hayden Reeves.
