Wayne Walton

Wayne Walton, age 84, of Hurst, Texas (Former resident of Sweetwater, Texas), passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Bishop Davies Nursing Center in Hurst, Texas.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Mike Sells and Chad Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Wayne was born on April 12, 1928 in Eastland, Texas to Henry L. and Annie L. (Love) Walton. He married Betty Laverne Callan in 1947 in Sweetwater, TX and later married Pauline "Polly" Sells on April 5, l962 in Sweetwater, TX. He worked for over forty years in the Gypsum business. He started out working for U.S. Gypsum in Sweetwater, and later for Temple East Texas Gypsum Co. He also worked for ABI before retiring .

He is survived by his sister, Louise Wilson of Atlanta, Georgia; five sons, Vernon Walton of Fort Worth, TX; Roy Hickson of Abilene, TX; Lavoy Walton of West Memphis, AR; Michael Walton of Abilene, TX and John Walton of Boyd, TX; two daughters, Linda Kay Campbell of Boyd, Texas and Alinda Dale of Fort Worth, Texas; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Polly, first wife Betty, his parents, Henry L. and Annie Walton, six brothers and three sisters.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
