Willie Ruth (Bahlman) Teague

February 16, 1921 — March 7, 2012

Willie Ruth (Bahlman) Teague ended her 91-year earthly journey and was promoted to glory on March 07, 2012. She passed away in Duncan, Oklahoma, after a brief illness.

Willie Ruth was born February 16, 1921, in Winters, Runnels County, Texas, to Otto and Lena Bahlman. She was married to Philip E. Teague, her husband of 68 years, in Wilmeth, Texas, on December 19, 1943. The family moved to Sweetwater, Texas, in 1948, where they lived south of the city until 2010 when they moved to Oklahoma to be near their son.

She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and was baptized on July 8, 1935, by L. W. Hayhurst at Wilmeth, Texas. She was an excellent seamstress and homemaker and a hard worker at everything she did. She was a dedicated member of Normandy Avenue Church of Christ, and active in S.N.A.P. She especially enjoyed singing gospel songs with her extended family.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Teague, of Duncan, Oklahoma; two sons: Robert Teague and his wife Louise of Duncan, Oklahoma, Bill Teague and his wife Mary of Waco, Texas, and one daughter, Phyllis Ann Cash and her husband Larry of Corpus Christi, Texas; five grandchildren: Rachel Sherwin and her husband Jonathan, Rebecca Logue, Aaron Cash and his wife Tiffany, Allison Miraval and her husband Allen, and Cody Teague; and three great-grandchildren: Hannah Sherwin, Jordan Logue, and Leah Sherwin. She is also survived by one sister, Jewel Teague, and two brothers, Leon Bahlman and Nelan Bahlman, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lera Mae Eager, and two brothers, J. W. Bahlman and Melvin Bahlman.

Cate-Spencer and Trent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, with a Family Visitation on Sunday, March 11, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at 403 Locust, in Sweetwater. Her funeral service will be held Monday, March 12, at 2:00 PM, at Normandy Avenue Church of Christ, 105 Normandy, in Sweetwater, Texas with Max Pratt and Mike Ensminger officiating. Interment will be at Sweetwater Cemetery.

Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Christian Relief Fund, P. O. Box 19670, Amarillo, TX 79114, or your favorite mission work or charity.
