Ydalia G. Alcala, age 59, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at her residence.
A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Monday, July 15, 2013 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Lupe Medellin. .
Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Okonkwo officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Ydalia was born on June 16, 1954 in Sweetwater, Texas to Eliseo and Odilia (Virgen) Gomez. She was a homemaker and also worked for Ludlum's Measurements. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She married Steven Alcala, Sr. on Feb. 12, 1973 in Sweetwater, Texas.
She is survived by two daughters, Marie L. Alcala and Rodney Saddler of Sweetwater, Texas, and Annette P. (Pinkie) Blueford and husband Lamar of Sweetwater, Texas and one son, Steven Alcala, Jr. of Sweetwater, Texas, eight grandchildren, Andrew Alcala, Alexe Alcala, Gabriel Alcala, Angela Blueford, Darwin Blueford, LeBron Blueford, Madelyn Hicks and Quentin Saddler, parents, Eliseo Gomez and wife Odilia of Sweetwater, Texas, three sisters, Odilia Sanchez of Sweetwater, Texas, Sylvia Deloera and husband Henry of Arlington, Texas, and Terry Garcia and husband Eugene of Sweetwater, Texas, and brother, Eddie Gomez of Sweetwater, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven C. Alcala, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Ornelas, Jr., Chris Garcia, Dan Vega, Andrew Alcala, Ernie Munoz, and Sammy Sanchez.
