Paul M. Gutierrez, age 54, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Hendrick Medical Center North in Abilene, Texas.

A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Friday, August 25, 2023 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Deacon David Mendez.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish with Father Nilo Nalugon officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Paul was born on March 9, 1969 in Sweetwater, Texas to Elutierio and Eloisa (Meneses) Gutierrez.  He was a lifetime resident of Sweetwater, Texas.  He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish.  He enjoyed traveling and visiting his grandkids.  Paul loved Tejano music and dancing.

He is survived by two daughters, Leatrice Gutierrez of Matador, Texas, and Virginia Gutierrez of Sweetwater, Texas, one son, Anthony Gutierrez of Sweetwater, Texas, seven grandchildren, two brothers, Johnny Gutierrez and wife Mary of Sweetwater, Texas, and Felix Gutierrez and Edna Paz of Abilene, Texas, and three sisters, Eloisa Gutierrez of Sweetwater, Texas, Janette Boiles and husband Rick of Big Spring, Texas, and Patricia Torres and husband Angel of Midland, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elutierio & Eloisa Gutierrez, and sister, Esther Gutierrez.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Gutierrez, Manuel Arenivaz, III, Derek Arenivaz, Dominick Boiles, Johnny Gutierrez, Jr. and Angel Torres.
